Mastering Grounded Theory (GT) is more than just a research method. It’s a journey of transforming raw data into sophisticated, impactful conceptualization. But let's be honest: between constant comparison and theoretical sampling, it’s easy to feel like you’re wandering in a sea of codes.
Whether you are a doctoral candidate finding your footing or an experienced faculty member refining your craft, you don't have to navigate the "messy middle" of qualitative research alone.
Why Partner with a Mentor?
I don’t just teach the theory; I guide the practice. My mentorship is designed to provide methodological rigor and practical tools across all GT perspectives (Constructivist, Systematic, or Classic).
What you’ll gain:
- Foundational Mastery: No more jargon—just a rock-solid theoretical base.
- Live Modeling: See exactly how coding and memoing work in real-time.
- Iterative Feedback: Get detailed critiques to keep your analysis deep and focused.
- Workflow Strategy: Learn "insider" habits, like professional memo labeling systems.
Choose Your Pathway

Mentorship FAQ: Your Questions, Answered
Navigating a complex methodology like Grounded Theory often raises questions. Here are answers to the most common queries I receive about the mentorship process.
Q: Do I need to be using a specific type of Grounded Theory?
A: No. I partner with researchers operating from all GT perspectives, including Constructivist (Charmaz), Systematic (Strauss & Corbin), or Classic (Glaser) Grounded Theory. We will tailor the application of the method to align precisely with your chosen approach.
Q: What happens during a "Live Modeling" session?
A: These are hands-on, interactive sessions. I will share my screen (or guide you through yours) to demonstrate exactly how to apply coding techniques to your raw data. We will practice constant comparison and move into memoing in real-time, so you learn by doing, not just hearing.
Q: Does the mentorship fee ($100) cover the entire project?
A: The $100 fee covers one Standard Mentorship Module, which includes 4 hours of dedicated 1-to-1 consultation time. Many researchers find that one module is sufficient to master a specific phase (like Track A or Track B), but you are welcome to purchase additional modules if your project requires ongoing, iterative support.
Q: Will you do the coding/memoing for me?
A: No. Mentorship is a collaborative partnership. I provide the roadmap, the tools, and the rigorous critique, but the creative and intellectual work of data collection, coding, and generating the theory remains yours. My goal is to empower you with the skills to do this work effectively and confidently.
Q: I'm not in academia; can I still join?
A: Yes. While many clients are doctoral candidates or faculty, Grounded Theory is highly effective in market research, policy analysis, and clinical settings. I work with researchers across all disciplines and sectors.
